Celebrating ten years of electrifying performances and chart-topping tracks, the Bubba Brothers have solidified their place in the electronic music world. Known for their dynamic live shows and unique sonic identity, Eliseu Correia and Justino Santos continue to push the boundaries of house music. From headlining festivals across Europe to collaborating with orchestras, their journey has been nothing short of spectacular.
We sat down with the duo to discuss their incredible 2024, the creative process behind their music, and the lessons they’ve learned from sharing the stage with industry legends.
2024 has been a big year for you, with performances at festivals in the UK, Spain, and Ibiza. What’s been the highlight so far, and why?
Bubba Brothers: It’s true! 2024 has been amazing, and it’s really difficult to pick just one gig as the best. Each performance is unique. But if we had to choose, maybe Blue Marlin—I mean, it’s such an iconic club, and being hosted by the incredible Eli Rojas made it even more special.
Social media plays a significant role in today’s music industry. How do you balance the need to stay authentic with the demands of building an online presence?
Bubba Brothers: Honestly, we focus first and foremost on the music—the quality of our studio productions and the energy of our live performances. Social media comes far after that. Of course, it’s important, but staying true to the music is always our top priority.
Your track Hangover (Feel Like a Zombie) has received high praise. What’s the story behind this song, and how did the remix EP come together?
Bubba Brothers: The story is something we’ve all experienced—a long night out, a brutal hangover the next morning, and the classic “I’ll never do this again” promise. But then, as soon as you feel better… you’re back in the club! Even if you feel like a zombie. [laughs] That’s exactly what inspired the track, and the remixes just built on that energy.
As a duo, how do you collaborate in the studio? Do you each take on specific roles, or is the process more fluid?
Bubba Brothers: The process is definitely fluid, but the creative and production signature really belongs to Eliseu. He takes the lead on that side of things.
Your upcoming live performance with the Classical Orchestra of the Algarve sounds incredible. How did this collaboration come about, and what can fans expect?
Bubba Brothers: This was the first time something like this had ever been done in Portugal, and the audience absolutely loved it. People were dancing all over the theatre—it was wild! We’re definitely doing it again. It’s such a unique way to blend electronic music with classical elements.
You’ve shared the stage with legends like Roger Sanchez and Chus. What have these experiences taught you as artists?
Bubba Brothers: Every time you share the stage with legends, you learn something new about music. It’s an incredible experience, but also surreal—because you never expect to find yourself on the same stage as your idols. It’s truly amazing.
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs and producers looking to carve out their space in electronic music?
Bubba Brothers: Stay faithful to your beliefs, be genuine, be honest, and create your own style. That’s the only way to stand out in this industry.
