Spanish DJ and producer JJ Mullor launches a new chapter with My Yard EP, out now via his long-running Supermarket Records imprint.
The three-track release brings together Mullor’s main production identity and his Gömbök Project alias for the first time, combining years of club experience with the hardgroove and tribal techno direction that has become central to his recent output.
Opening track “Lady Panda” immediately establishes the EP’s intention with driving percussion and a rolling groove built for long blends. “Mr Toyota” keeps the pressure locked through a stripped, functional arrangement, while “Tekno Birds” completes the package with another rhythm-heavy cut designed to maintain momentum deep inside a set.
There is a distinctly old-school philosophy behind the production. Instead of chasing instant drops or short social-media-friendly structures, My Yard EP treats each track as a genuine DJ tool. Percussion, bass and repetition do most of the work, allowing the music to build tension gradually and integrate naturally with surrounding records.
The EP also underlines the renewed identity of Supermarket Records. Originally founded by Mullor in 2010, the label has been repositioned around hardgroove, techno and raw club music, reconnecting with the sounds that first drew him towards electronic music.
My Yard EP feels less like a stylistic reinvention than a return to an instinct that has been present throughout JJ Mullor’s career: make records that DJs can actually use.
