‘The Outlines’ is a track that has been finished for over nine months, and in that time it has been a tantalising secret weapon during Koven’s sets at sold out shows such as their European tour – and in iconic settings such as Printworks, Snowbombing Festival, their debut headline tour in the US, and a festival run in New Zealand earlier this year. It’s been held back, leaving fans yearning for the official release, but now it is finally here.
This collaboration sees Koven leave behind their epic signature cinematic soundscapes for something much more raw; bass-driven intensity, masterfully interwoven with Circadian’s daring and unconventional approach. The result: an unparalleled club banger.
Known for pioneering a cinematic drum & bass sound, Koven aka Max Rowat and Katie Boyle have picked up millions of online streams and high profile music placements in film, TV and video games and are at the forefront of the scene. Koven have built their reputation on the foundations laid down by years of hard work, touring and collaboration to earn themselves a reputation as a formidable act. With Katie fronting the act’s public appearances, providing the signature vocals in the studio as well as during live shows and writing the songs, and Max the brains behind the beats, the duo are primed to shift into the next phase of their ever burgeoning evolution.
Circadian meanwhile is a new solo project from Chris Garvey, one half of The Prototypes, and someone with a versatile sound who has headlined every major club and festival in the world. Garvey says that the alias represents “the Ying Yang of Rave Culture” and is the sound of him “delving into the depths of the music he loves”.
This is a superb coming together of some fine talents who have cooked up an essential new cut that continues to make its mark on the world’s best dance floors.
