Nael & Yonn team up for a fresh and fantastic EP ‘Malditos Cambios’, on ELIF’s influential Marginalia label while RADON steps up to the remix.
A key part of the underground scene, Yonn brings modern sound designs and powerful grooves that blend house, techno and electronic soundscapes. He is a dazzling DJ who has played across Europe and impressed with his seamless mixing skills, all while connecting on a deeper level with his dancers. Meanwhile, Israel-born Nael is a naturally talented synth player who jams out original sounds and is on a mission to spread happiness through his electrifying beats.
First track, ‘Malditos Cambios’ opens up with deep, heavy beats that come alive with ghoulish vocals that are twisted through a filter. Raw percussion and heavy chords add more weight to this menacing groove monster.
Jumping on this for a remix, RADON hails from Argentina and is a DJ-producer with his own fresh sound. He has previously released with Marginalia and has marked himself out at the forefront of the scene with fans including John Digweed, Adriatique and Echonomist. His remix is warm and atmospheric but with a freaky undercurrent. His leaping synth sequences add colour while the smeared pads and reverberating drums make their physical mark.
Meanwhile, the b side on the EP ‘Wisdom’ has a zoned out feel with vamping, crisp, dubby rolling drums and a cosmic energy. The synths eventually cut loose and spray about the mix to get hands in the air and dance floors rocking.
This marks another fresh, forward thinking package from ELIF’s rising Marginalia imprint.
