The Captains is Older Future at his most unguarded: a blast of synth-dense, beat-forward electronics that treats club architecture as a place for self-inquiry. Between IDM lattices, electro thrust, synthwave hues, and breakbeat/drum & bass undercurrents, Alon Yaish maps out a mind in motion—self-consciousness, power, judgment, trauma, perseverance—without sacrificing momentum.
Openers “Mitch” and “Neon Summer” sketch neon melancholy; “The Confession” tightens the screws; “I am I was I will I want” reads like a mission statement. Fans of Aphex Twin, Com Truise, Noisia, Dorian Concept, Daft Punk, Jon Hopkins will find kinship, but this is unmistakably Older Future—philosophical club music with bite.
