Spanish producer and engineer Occipital makes his debut on Runemark Records with Epiphany, a two-track release that balances raw electronic machinery with a distinctly emotional approach to the dancefloor.
Much of Occipital’s creative identity is connected to his experience designing and building musical instruments, including the widely acclaimed OXI One sequencer. That hands-on relationship with hardware can be felt throughout the original version of Epiphany, where melodic techno, progressive house and deeper club influences come together in a hypnotic and carefully controlled progression.
Aggressive and melancholic in equal measure, the track is built for the later hours of the night. Its melodic leads carry a strong emotional charge, while the underlying groove keeps the production firmly directed towards the dancefloor. Rather than chasing an immediate peak, Occipital allows the tension to unfold gradually.
Ten Walls takes control of the second version, reshaping the progressions and bassline while preserving the emotional core of the original. His remix introduces a different sense of movement and gives the composition a fresh club perspective without disconnecting it from Occipital’s initial idea.
The contrast between both versions is precisely what makes the release work. The original establishes Occipital’s hardware-driven language, while the remix explores how that same material can move into new territory.
With Epiphany, Occipital closes the circle between designing instruments and using them to communicate through his own music. It is not a secondary experiment, but the continuation of the artistic impulse that started everything.
